Our Gutter King experience began five years ago with a 20-year upgrade to wider gutters and downpipes, in a custom colour complementing the exterior decor of our home. Most Impressive aside from precision craftsmanship, installation, and cleanup was the on-site manufacture of a one-piece gutter to be placed three storeys up, along the entire length of the side of our home. Installation of such a length of gutter is a challenging manoeuvre, where many contractors would opt to cover the span with two or more shorter sections. Gutter King’s approach left our home with a more aesthetically appealing profile and watertight one-piece gutter for carrying water runoff from our roof. The story doesn’t end there. This year we had a solar-electric system installed on our roof and in the process of hefting the heavy panels into place up top, a section of gutter at the front of the house was badly crumpled and though still functional, presented a glaring eyesore. Gutter King turned up and took precise measurement of the section needing replacement; tracked down a supply of metal gutter perfectly matched to the original custom colour and executed restoration of our roof drainage system to new. Welcome news recently from Gutter King is is that it’s will expand its operation in the new year to include annual maintenance — presumably done with the same quality care as applied in their installations. Coincidentally, the two-person Gutter King repair crew arrived the day after we’d had the gutters cleaned by a contractor who has done them annually since we moved in. Gutter King pointed out uncleaned-up mud and remaining leaves that had been missed — pointing out that hands cannot effectively squeeze in to remove debris trapped by shingle overhang. Nor can blowers dislodge and remove trapped and concealed material efficiently (Gutter King routinely uses vacuum cleaners, maintaining that’s the only effective way to do a proper job. The bottom line in our household is thar we’ll continue to depend on Gutter King year ‘round for a roof runoff needs and would recommend them similarly to Vancouver Island homeowners.
